Overall, that's not a bad movie, even if the story is a bit cliché (a few sympathical Northmen vs a whole tribe of flesh eating "not men", learning language in one night, turning a sword into a saber, surviving to the end of the world, "emergency exits" in a cave, etc).
The fact that Ahmad is to deal with a new culture is quite pleasant, and the pseudo-historical setting is great. The sceneries are absolutely beautiful too, I mean, who doesn't like fog? And foggy forests, foggy seas...
There are two sides of the story: a sociological one, where we are shown the heroe's discovery of a new civilisation, and a fantasy one, where "the eaters of the dead" appear as a mix of mist-monsters and neaderthals.
I don't have to say that I liked the first one: corail snakes are from Australy, not from North-wherever-land, Neanderthal didn't live in caves, but at their entry, and caves are not a combo of rock-hard-flats. Plus, you know, who the hell does decorate their home with fleshy heads and skulls?
That was my idea, damnit.
Appart from that, fighting, fighting, fighting ; my sister's boyfriend-
